I Don't Want To Be Like This

I found this video www.algoodwin.com/video  I really like the song, it's me and a couple of old school mates having a jam weekend in Holland not so long ago. Think I'll record this for the new album.

"I Don't Want To Be Like This" is a song I'd been sitting on for a while and it's about the days when I'm negative about the state of the world and feeling helpless, basically saying it's us to blame and we are the only things in the way. Needs the right groove but it's getting there. Let me know what you think.

I also got to play my first solo gig in London, I was really nervous and had to get over stage fright but I did it and felt quite euphoric afterwards. I guess not having that cushion of a band was what made me feel so open and the audience were up close to say the least. Good response though and I'll play again soon.

Also been getting some people on board to help out with online marketing, really excited about this and this should grow the fan base and get me some much needed revenue to fund the new album. I'll keep you posted and get you to help out with some viral marketing. Watch this space!

I've had to stop giving all my music away FREE or I'd just not manage to progress, there is a new site called www.woodeemusic.com and they find the cheapest legal download stores for music fans like yourselves. Really like the concept as music fans get a bargain and artists get paid.

Still waiting to receive my first royalties from licensing in the US but they do say "patience is a virtue"

So it's been a productive time and I'm so pleased that kind people want to get involved with my music and are hearing the potential, so if Juanita, Jake and Chris are reading this I really am grateful but you know that.

I'm still home alone while my partner and two girls are away on holiday and I'm now really missing them. Just gonna open a bottle of wine and get into hopefully the creative zone as a new song called "All Colours Shine" it's proving to be quite frustrating, loving the chords and melody but I keep throwing the lyrics away. I do tend to be quite hard on myself.

Ok that's about it for now, enjoy the vid of the new track, still some FREE downloads available of the songs I want to re-record from my first album.

By the way a very reputable producer loved "The Stone That Brought The Girl" but could not understand the story and I am not willing to do a rewrite. Anyone else confused here's an old blog I did after writing it click here

Sign the guest book or comment even if it's just to say hello.

Love and music. Al.
